That is half of what is being complained about.
Maybe two thirds of what is being complained about, depending on where "under the hood" meets the UI.
The other parts of the complaints are about how blacklists, filters, folders, and whitelists are handled (Those could be considered part of the UI), and what the mail system owner may be doing behind someone's back, with their personal data.
I personally love about 90% of the UI for Google, but, what they do with my personal data does concern me.
Their EULA doesn't allay that concern.
