There is no return game with South Carolina. The trip to play in Columbia is a money game.

As of February 7th, the current standings for CUSA Men's Basketball are as follows:

Middle Tennessee 10-1
Old Dominion 8-2
Western Kentucky 8-2
Marshall 6-4
North Texas 6-4
Alabama-Birmingham 6-5
Texas-San Antonio 6-5
Louisiana Tech 5-6
Southern Miss 5-6
Florida International 5-6
Florida Atlantic 4-7
Rice 2-8
Texas-El Paso 2-9
UNC-Charlotte 1-9

Marshall has been almost unbeatable at home this season, so hopefully that holds true with the four remaining home games. If Marshall can finish the last 8 games with a 6-2 record, that should keep them in the top 4 or 5 of the standings for the conference tournament.

As of February 21st, here are the current CUSA Men's Basketball Standings.

Middle Tennessee 14-1
Old Dominion 12-2
Western Kentucky 12-2
Marshall 10-4
UTSA 8-6
UAB 8-7
North Texas 7-7
Louisiana Tech 7-8
Southern Miss 6-9
Florida Atlantic 5-9
Florida International 5-9
UTEP 3-11
Rice 2-12
UNC-Charlotte 1-13

With 4 games left, Marshall will face the teams currently sitting 2nd, last, 6th and 1st. Also, Marshall is 14-1 at home this season, with 2 more homes this week against ODU and Charlotte. If Marshall can go 3-1 over these last 4 games, they will finish the season 22-9, 13-5 in CUSA. That will guarantee them a top 4 finish in the conference going into the tournament.

They seemed to play that entire game either tied up or ahead by 2 or 3 points. Toward the end, they pulled far enough ahead to put the game away in the last 2 minutes. That team seems to be playing almost as well as the team did when D'Antoni was a player, way back when.

They are seeded #4 in the C-USA tournament. They get to skip the first round of play.

Which gets the league's automatic NCAA bid... the tournament champion or the regular season champion?
