I guess all those smoke shops I see in just about every strip center in Houston aren't selling anything worth smoking.

Houston ranks as one of the worst cities in the country for cannabis consumers, according to a new report from Real Estate Witch and Leafly.

The report takes the nation’s top 50 metropolitan areas and using a formula, orders the cities in terms of which one is best for people who use the substance. Several metrics were used to determine rank, such as local cannabis laws, the cost of weed, the number of dispensaries and Google Trends data.

The report says an ounce of high-quality cannabis in Houston costs $313.67 while the average price of an ounce of mid-quality cannabis is $234.15. There are also just 0.5 marijuana retailers for every 100,000 residents, according to the report.

To each his own; I would say that ranks Houston near the top. ;-)

I don't know why anyone is surprised about this, given the vehement opposition to anything THC related from Dan Patrick.

Default City/Metro Rankings

What is up with all the endless City/Metro rankings? I say enough is enough. This is getting ridiculous. Who is making money off of this? I recommend disregarding this stuff and continuing with you life.
I cant imagine the insanity of trying to keep all these people happy. I mean you could bankrupt everyone in the City trying to fix every little issue that keeps your City from being at the top of their rankings. We already have enough problems without these tyrants telling us that were not good enough for their stupid ranking. I am going to try not to let this vanity affect me.
Is the Chronicle behind this? They should stop publishing stuff like this.

I just can't stop laughing at the image of some pot head dealer trying to make change for a $313.67 bag of smoke. Yes I know that was an average but still.

In other news pot and prostitution are 2 vices that every city secretly wants to be considered above average on at the same time condemning it for the sake of a law-and-order image. It makes bringing conventions into town much easier.
