We don't care what others think of how we wear hair, except when it affects our ability to earn as it did for so many years. Non black people have been interfering in how black women wear their hair for decades to the point laws have to be written to protect us from prejudices affecting how we choose to groom our hair. Finally we get to make a choice to go with styles we prefer without others trying to decide what does or doesn't look good on us, same folks rarely comment on real or fake hair pertaining to other groups and believe me many other groups of women wear wigs, extensions and many other types of hair they so choose. I do wonder why someone would be so insulting to black women and their hair whatever the style. Very telling for sure when our look offends others to such an extent they have to be insulting.
Yep, it gets old to see such derogatory comments about what we do with our hair weather grown out of our scalp or not.
You seem to have a bit of a chip on your shoulder. Actually the original poster DID ask for people's comments on her hair, and we gave them freely. I think she was really wondering what to do, and she didn't say she only wanted black people to respond, so everyone chimed in. I don't see anything to fuss about, but for sure whatever you decide to do with your hair, how anyone else feels about it isn't something you can control.
And yes, people do comment on non-black people's hair, all the time. Sometimes it's asked for, sometimes not. I'm not sure what insults you are referring to in this thread. It seemed to me a pretty comprehensive discussion between WOMEN, not blacks or non-blacks, about hair styles.

Oh, please. I've never cared one way or the other. That being said, ANY overly ornate hair style on anyone of any color would be offsetting to me.
I'm all for a more natural look on anyone. But that's just me.
By the way, where I work, we are not allowed to have any "unnatural" hair colors, so dang it, I can't dye my hair pink or green or purple!
Women and hair styles have changed so much over time, and women will always find ways to do what they like with their hair, as women are into fashion and styles, and there are many fashions and styles in the world.
I see some women who only wear wigs, and some as they age, and their hair thins, they find styles they like.
I think in life, God knew what was the benefits within the creation of various textures of hair. What matters most is people taking care to groom what ever type or length of hair they have.
I do notice that as women reach a certain age, many seem to prefer a shorter style.
