Surprisingly, even urban Pinellas County went with Trump in the 2016 election. It was the only urbanized county in Florida to do so.

The Mississippi/Alabama/Northwest Florida coasts sound perfect.

Although located in a "blue"-leaning state (historically speaking), Washington County ME tends to vote Republican and is relatively socially conservative. It is also chock-full of generally quiet and safe fishing villages that sometimes come to life in the summertime. Folks here are polite but reserved, almost in a Midwestern kind of way.

If you're an avid gun owner/collector, you really can't do much better than Maine.

But if you're seeking a warmer climate, I would opt for the "Redneck Rivera" region of Florida, as someone else mentioned. Outside of Panama City Beach, this area is very safe and quiet (by Florida standards). Locales seemed to be fairly friendly, as it's mainly comprised of natives (who are culturally and linguistically Southern to the bone) and retirees/transplants from the Midwest.

Better not venture too far West or North. You will also want to avoid southern Dade County, and most of the Keys as well. Hell, you'll probably hate all of Florida outside your little bubble.

There's a large percentage of old white people in Pinellas. It's not a surprise to me.

The liberal spots of Florida aren't even REALLY that liberal, not by northern or western standards. Miami is surprisingly more conservative than many people realise, largely due to its Catholic Latino influence.

Exactly. I would say that Ft. Lauderdale, Orlando, Tampa, St. Petersburg, Gainesville & Tallahassee are the most liberal cities at this point.
