What are some of the nicer neighborhoods/areas to look at in Ft Worth? We are a family with young kids and would be interested in a 3 bedroom, approximately 2500-3000 sq ft home preferably staying around $650K. We would like to be close to parks, playgrounds, walking trails, a grocery store, and if possible be in a neighborhood with a community pool.

Those kind of neighborhoods will be in the newly-developed areas around Alliance airport in far north Fort Worth, and the suburbs of Keller and North Richland Hills.

In addition those above I'd add Walsh Ranch in west Fort Worth. Lot's of new construction there in your price range. And if you like to be in a more urban setting there are some lovely areas in SW central Fort Worth that have really beautiful older and historic homes in your price range like Ryan Place, Fairmount, and Berkeley Place. I'd get a realtor that knows the Fort Worth metro area to get some professional advice.

Or in the opposite direction far South Fort Worth and Burleson. Really any direction outside of maybe east of FW will offer what you're looking for. Really depends on work place, schools and maybe personal preferences (do you want to be near the airport, do you want a newer area or older, etc).

Le Tara, Wellington, Sweetgrass, Watercress, North Star, Bridgeview are nice areas in North Fort Worth, close to new shopping, restaurants and entertainment in Fort Worth Alliance area. Areas and homes are brand new and shiny.

Look at my area: north Benbrook.

I don't know your work travel requirements from your post, but I worked downtown Fort Worth. We bought a house in north Benbrook in 2004, and my commute down I-30 was 13 minutes.

North Benbrook: an area in west Fort Worth. I am off Chapin Trial and Camp Bowie. I am told (I have no children) that the schools are good. Krogers, Tom Thumbs, close by. Camp Bowie is the main street going west to east.

Aledo is also good.
