Do other electrical providers in Texas tack on that "maintenance of poles and wires" BS charge? Over a hundred bucks a month. That's a lot of "maintenance" if you ask me.

That charge is a combination of a flat monthly charge and a per kWh charge for delivering the electricity from Gexas to your house. Gexa does not own the wires and poles. For Ft Worth, the poles and wires are owned by Oncor. You pay $4.23 per month base charge for Oncor plus $ 0.045403 per kWh. A $100 charge for Oncor implies you used 2,116 kWh of electricity.

The Oncor charge is regulated by the PUC, and Oncor has to go before the PUC to change those rates, and have to justify them.
