Argyle is growing and growing fast. They are slapping houses on land as soon as they can get it

The list is unrealistic.

I don’t think there is any small town in texas that will have public schools as good as the fancy/richer suburbs of Fort Worth.

I would probably send my kids to private school. Or just accept that they will get a small town education. Which is fine, just make sure they take AP classes.

I would look around weatherford, Stephenville, glen rose, granbury. I don’t know where the best public schools or private schools are. I just love this area.

Kids frequently get a quality education from districts that a lot of people here turn their nose up at. You can include me in that. I went to a small outlying district in the area that I've seen plenty of posters label as "poor" and I, and most of my classmates, turned out okay. I've found that a lot of school district feedback on here is based on the income and ethnic diversity of the students and has very little to do with any direct experience.

The only thing I need is to be in the range of 2 hours away from the DFW airport (my travel for work is very seldom). Are there still any great small towns out there?
We moved from Fort Worth to Weatherford. We are retired and like it. Not sure about schools. Nice to have visitation rights to Fort Worth when WE want to put up with the traffic, etc.

Also, they need to accept that at some point sprawl will reach them, making an area that doesn't have the infrastructure to support it unpleasant in terms of traffic.

Ah yeah, I would generally agree.

Muenster ISD is a 97 A rating. But I would not buy that house. The land will not remain in ag exempt since it is not being used for anything (other than possibly hay production), and when it falls out, the taxes will be $$$. Also, there are no outbuildings at all. For the price, you could do a lot better. Muenster will be a long haul to either DFW or Love Field.

Valley View ISD is an 84 B rating, which is not great. The location of that house isn't great since the access to I-35 is very limited by having to cross part of Lake Ray Roberts. It is a nice property and has nice outbuildings.

Collinsville ISD is a 77 C rating. Ouch. And Grayson County property taxes are notoriously high. I hate the kitchen in that house, and the open laundry area (as opposed to a laundry room with a door) is awful. The pine floors are pretty.
