Hey all, long time lurker, first time poster! I'm moving to Forth Worth in a couple months and looking for some advice on places to live. I'll be working in Haslet but working nights/off hours so not terribly worried about traffic for a commute based on what I've seen from the research (could absolutely be mistaken though, please let me know if otherwise!). I want to be walkable to things to do (restaurants, coffee shops, etc) so was initially looking downtown and Magnolia Ave/Near Southside area but was concerned with some of the posts regarding safety of the area, especially as a female who will likely be heading to or from work around 2am. Looking for an apartment, hoping to stay 1800ish/month for rent. Open to any and all advice, thanks!

Edit to add: No kids and not planning on them anytime soon so school districts aren't a concern. I'm mid/late 20s so not really looking to be in the middle of the college kid bar scene but totally fine with some noise in general!

How long of a commute are you willing to tolerate? Downtown FW to Haslet can be a very long drive, and not necessarily one that I would regularly want to make as a female at 2 AM.

Well, then try living down at Magnolia. Sign a 6 month lease and see if the areas works for you. Walkable areas really aren’t common in DFW due to the HOT summer weather, and that’s one of the few that actually do exist.

It's 110F here this week. Will you really walk to a coffee shop? Better look for the Cryo Therapy boutique.
Maybe Fairmont area is where you want to be.
I see plenty of women during the day walking in the neighborhood.
Not sure I would do that at 2am.
