My friend was telling me about a new mall going in Northern Ftw.. like.. out in Saginaw area, but maybe not in Saginaw. What mall is this, anyone have a link to an article or anything on it?

There is some retail that's being developed, some stores already open, at 35 and Heritage Trace. I know JCPenneys and Hobby Lobby are already open as well as the oh so great restaurant Cheddars.

As for new malls, if I remember correctly and I'm sure someone else knows these details also, that Hillwood at one time planned on building a shopping mall along the 114/170 corridor. I think those plans were finally scratched though. I have been hearing rumblings about a retail development at 35 and 1171 but I think that is just not going to happen at all, at least not in the near future. Although there is some advertising for it when you drive by.

Someone told me that the new construction adjacent to Best Buy in Lake Worth will be a 24 Hour Fitness gym. I was hoping LA Fitness would build in LW. Maybe they still will eventually, assuming they don't get scared off by 24 Hour Fitness.

You know, I've only past through their a few times. The only time I spent on the northside is when played Boswell and Azel. I've lived in Fort Worth all my life, but there are still parts I haven't seen or been too. I guess that's why I knew nothing about development in Lake Worth.

How is Lake Worth, anyway? It seems rural to me.

I've only lived in the LW area for about a year. From what long-time locals say, LW/NW FW/Saginaw has really sprung. In fact, just yesterday, a few friends stopped by and we went riding around Eagle Mountain Lake and other area. One guy pretty much said, "Holy crap this town developed!"

Yea Saginaw is a nice area... the bad thing about it though is the horrible grain bin things you can see from virtually everywhere out there.

Yes, those are an eyesore. Also, sometimes those freight trains take forever to cross and at night, their whistles can be audible for quite a distance.

AUSTIN. I know this is all about Ft. Worth, but Austin is a very ambitious city when it comes to the skyline. Have you seen what it's supposed to look like in 3 years? It's almost like something out of Futurama.

Fort Worth isn't as big as Austin, but we can still bulid as much as Austin, right? What's wrong with a little ambition?
