I bought a tube of Lume, and have used it on the pits instead of deodorant. I dont like how deodorant damages my clothes. It is supposedly very gentle and it works great.
I think it depends on what kind of sweater you are. Strong, less strong, more/less odor, emotional sweater, hormonal sweater, activity sweater ...
I tried it all - did not work for me. Also tried apple vinegar. I have a strong hormone imbalance and guess that's why nothing works other than real deodorant.
Try it the way I wrote. With actual lime, straining the juice, and with your fingers. Use a generous amount. It really works and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
I use tuna fish sandwiches for under my arms. Cats love me.
Tried salsa but it was too runny. (Great with chips, tho.)
Seriously~
Actually, at my work, we're NOT ALLOWED to wear any kind of after shave/cologne/perfume/lotion or anything that could trigger an allergic reaction with patients...
I actually tried the lime juice under my arms, and surprisingly…..it works! I usually can detect a kinda stale, not really sweaty but definitely not fresh, scent at the end of the day, with the slight tinge of stale deodorant smell.
But with the lime juice, nothing!
I don’t usually do a lot of sweating day to day, but today I was working and playing outside with my 4 year old granddaughter, (it was hot and I was sweating!) and right now, pre-shower, I have no odor.
Interesting ideas mentioned here, I'm always open to anything alternative or natural.
I think body odor definitely depends on the person, diet, climate, and clothing. I live the northern part the the US where it usually doesn't get hot enough to be sweating on a daily basis. I rarely use deodorant anymore because it's just not needed, a daily washing of underarms is enough. When I wear polyester/spandex clothing that digs into my arms I definitely notice an odor on myself and the garment - it's the fabric holding in bacteria and making you sweat. I try to avoid wearing synthetic fabrics most of the time.

I'd hate to have to give up my aerosol deodorant, as it's always worked just fine and is most comfortable on me for all day. I might experiment on my days off from work with a lemon slice or lime slice under my arm pits. This might be worth a try.
