Just started 2 days ago and it has to go. I get a gray box that says caps lock on or off and it blocks where i type. It also keeps the light on the keyboard and then i want upper case i get lower and when i want lower case i get upper case.

If this a new windows thing? Anyway to get rid of it?

What version of Windows are you using?
What is the make of your machine?
Are you using a Logitech or some other known brand keyboard?

From what I have seen, OEMs like Lenovo, HP, etc. have their own utilities that can cause such notifications to display on the screen when a function key like Caps Lock or Num Lock is turned on or off.
Also keyboard manufacturers have software that can have such features but need more info from you to have a better idea.

Typically it will be an entry in the: System Settings > Apps > Startup
or a related service in the Services.

Hit the Windows key & type: Control Panel and then open it.
Now change the View by to Large Icons & open Keyboard.
Then steer to the Key Settings tab & double-click on Caps Lock.
Now uncheck 'Displays Caps Lock Status on Screen' & reboot your PC.

I sometimes accidentally hit the capslock button while typing. Sure you're not doing that?
