The irony is that Ballentine, IRmo, and CHapin... the "B" in Ballentine and the first two letters in the names of Irmo and Chapin forms the word BIRCH...I guess that was the reasoning..
First Citizens' headquarters is a real feather in the cap of Columbia's CBD. Their renovation of the adjacent Brennan Building where Bourbon will be opening is another. The plaza that's going next to the Brennan Building is under construction now. And now this:
A good source told me this company is moving into a building on Main Street two doors up from Paradise Ice. The building recently underwent a historically correct renovation.
I had heard Starbucks was looking. I haven't noticed a sign saying their coming.
