Even $400 a month would not be that much, as with all the job openings, part-time jobs are easy to get. I have met many people who work a full-time job and a part-time job to catch up on debt. One guy I knew whose wife had a baby had a full-time job, part time job and weekend job, and his wife worked part-time, and he was a young guy doing physical labor, actually one of those guys that the deadbeats want to pay off their student loan.

Yeah, one would think that a college educated person would find a way to earn $100 extra per week.
My granddaughter had 2 student loans. One was on pause and one wasn’t. She doubled up on the one, and paid it off. Now the remaining one will be easier to pay off.

Your granddaughter is smart in the way that she has been handling things. Good for her!
I have heard the monthly payment would be $400,where did you guy get $200?
I have four kids that have graduated and all have student loans. They are carrying about $20k total, each, at an average of 4%. The student loan service estimates a monthly payment of about $200.
Since they are carrying the median total amount of loans it's a good guess that $200 is the median monthly repayment.

I'll bet your kids will have those loans paid back in no time, too. They won't be the ones complaining about how they still have student loan debt in retirement.
I was listening to a broadcast where a someone being interviewed flat out said they weren't going to pay back the loan.
Can't their wages be garnished and even their social security payments?
