Miami's now 3-0 and have outscored opponents 3-1, and beat a ranked Texas A & M team.
They don't get tested again until Oct 14th vs. North Carolina....key game that they must win to make the final 4. They should be 5-0 going into this game and ranked in the top 15.
They also have Clemson on their schedule, but Clemson is not what they were. They must beat Clemson too.
They will likely lose their top 4 bid vs. FSU.
I asked for longshots, or darkhorses, and Miami's still in that discussion.
You could say the same for North Carolina. They are 3-0 with wins over two P5 opponents (S Carolina & Minnesota) and have a Heisman candidate with QB Drake Maye.
Buckeye QB play is not looking good this year so remove them from this list.
This is where Drew Allar comes into the Heisman conversation. He has looked exceptional and we are ready to topple that kryptonite (OSU) at the horseshoe, Oct. 21. Get ya popcorn!

Penix, Ewers, Jayden Daniels, Caleb Williams all make Drew Allar look like a high school quarterback. Keep dreaming there.
If they’ve been recruiting well for a couple years now then I expect nothing out of them. They haven’t been competitive in the weakest P5 and have lost to several non-P5 teams. So those recruiting classes obviously haven’t helped them much. I would be shocked if they are anything but bottom feeders.
They had a nice start but losing to GA Tech and NC back to back killed their momentum.
They played the ranked teams tough.
Now, they are losing top players to transfer portal...like their QB.
With the new portal system in place, a lot of lessor football teams now have a chance to get in the playoffs. Your team will now be as good as the players you pay to come, and as good as the best coach you can afford. It's a brand new ballgame now.

I agree and see a conference like the AAC the first to challenge with schools like SMU and Tulane already scratching at the door.
