Please share picture(s). I haven't owned one in probably 20 years or longer, but I always thought they were very nice birds.

Thanks for the pictures. Very pretty bird.

Reminds me of another parakeet that I used to raise called a Red Rumped Parakeet. About the same size and shape and very nice personality as well.

What a beautiful bird! I'd never even heard of a Bourke parakeet before! I love the coloring! Absolutely gorgeous!

Ho w pretty! I've never seen a pink parakeet before. I know with "ordinary" parakeets you can tell by the color of its cere; does it work the same way with the Bourke?

Bourke parakeets are cousins to budgies. They cannot be sexed as easy as budgies. The male and female birds are identical in color. For the most part to identify them by sex, it either needs to be done surgically or by blood sexing.
