Great idea, you can't mention MARTA unless you're in the sticky thread. That way those of us who avoid MARTA like an antibiotic resistant plague....

Is there anyone on here who lived in Atlanta in the late 1960's, a half century ago?

My house, located just outside the Perimeter, was built in 1961, when this area was all woods and farmland. From what I understand, the Perimeter was well outside the urbanized zone when it was first built, which blows my mind. Now I have to drive 20-25 miles outward just to clear the urbanized areas.

Would love to hear from anyone who was privileged enough to be around in Atlanta back then.

I used to visit my cousins in Sandy Springs. The Perimeter was under construction and it backed up to their neighborhood; we used to play in the excavation. My mother used to complain about the drive from Druid Hills out to my aunt's house; to her it was like going out of town.

I remember when they were building Perimeter Mall, it was way in the boonies.

Our turkey is currently brining in our garage fridge! Let's see, in addition to turkey, we are making broccoli casserole, sweet potato soufflé and dressing. Oh, and, of course, the canned cranberry sauce that comes out of the can with the little can-indention thingies on it! Add in a nice cab, and my wife and I will be stuffed. Two out of four kids with us this Thanksgiving, so that's not bad.

Friday, we are going to the Mystery Room place in Suwanee. We are doing the Sherlock Holmes room - so that should be fun. Saturday - well, GO DAWGS! Sunday, iFly with the kids.

That's about it in a nutshell!
I've always been curious...what do people do with the cranberry sauce? I know you eat it but I mean...do you combine it with other things or make a kind of gravy out of it?

It is delicious eaten together with a bite of stuffing. And, for leftovers, well... You make a turkey sandwich with cranberry sauce on top of the turkey. Gobble gobble heaven, I tell ya!
