Kind of weird. I moved from Amsterdam NY to Auburn, Maine, and we too our having our National Night Out on August 1st (as I believe most are), and ours is in our Veteran's Park

Boy has Amsterdam, NY changing A LOT since we left. Not a little lot, a Lot, Lot!. It is now our main stop whenever we travel anywhere - as our first stay over place (The Castle), when it's close enough.

It is nice to see Amsterdam growing again. Still a lot to do, but it seems to be moving forward. I'll be going back in April as my oldest sister wants to go back and check it out. She hasn't been back in 20 years, so I told her I'd take her as her birthday gift. So she, her husband and son will go for the day (or 2) and check the place out.

I'm sure we'll do Lanzi's pizzeria, (oops, Lorenzo's Southside) and see the locks, and the area around Garden, Union, Henry street and a like, as this is where we grew up and as much as we can get in, in one day
