I wouldn't worry about it; it's just speculation.

Putin signed a new decree last week to allocate funds for the research and registration of Russian property overseas, including that in former territories of the Russian Empire and Soviet Union, Russian state media TASS reported.

The decree, which comes amid Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine, did not specifically mention Alaska, though it caught the attention of military bloggers, who argued Putin was using the decree to declare the 1867 Russian sale of the Last Frontier State to the U.S. is illegal.

..I don't won't to see anyone go. Maybe he can have our child molesters to send to the front in Ukraine.
On a more serious note he had better be mindful of precedent..if this becomes a new norm China might start looking sideways at some of the territory Russia acquired from China by questionable means during that same general time frame

Putin is also big on dominating the Arctic Ocean.

I don't think Putin could defeat Alaska. Much less the entire United States lol. And don't forget, that would also be an attack on NATO.

This is exactly why we made them a state. It was clear that Russia, the USSR, whatever, was going to stir the pot at some point. Same story with Hawaii.

At least in terms of seabed resources yes, but Canada and possibly Greenland would also have a say about that. Laying claim to AK makes a teensy bit more sense due to historical Russian exploration/colonization.

If Putin believes Alexander II, Emperor of Russia, King of Poland and Grand Duke of Finland lacked authority to sell Alaska I'd like to know who the little swinehund believes did.

Putin should worry more about the war he is losing in Ukraine right now. He also should keep one eye on his Chinese friends who would love to take Siberia from Russia. Some say a Chinese Siberia is inevitable.

Russians suggesting they could reclaim Alaska is quite laughable.
