Broadway Theatre

Ensuring it is truly a community theatre, the Broadway Theatre in Vista, California offers performances for children and adults, as well as educational opportunities for those who want to learn more about the theatre. This is the county's only theatre that offers performances, as well as education. Instead of going dark when theatre season ends, The Broadway features a variety of classes, workshops, and camps that bring people into the theatre environment and expose them to the lifestyle. The theatre opened in 2004 with the goal of being different. Performances are classic and appeal to a wide variety of audiences. It is a smaller theatre with only 49 seats, but it has made a big enough impact to be recognized in the local media with awards and acknowledgements. Workshops offer an opportunity to experience performing first-hand and they give aspiring actors a chance to really test their ability and talent. There are Saturday workshops available, as well as summer drama camps for children. Drama camps are two weeks in length and there are six offered each year. If you are interested in enrolling your child, act fast because the camps have a tendency to fill up quickly. Camp costs are affordable and offer kids a chance to appreciate the theatre and determine if they have a future in performing.
