They both started out as very shy young women, who attended expensive private schools, and liked to be outfitted in expensive clothing. They were both bought town houses and cars when very young. Both very attractive tall young ladies. I think there are quite a few similarities. Only thing is one was in a very bad marriage, and one in a good marriage.

I think Catherine had a more stable upbringing and also in the early days of dating William at St Andrews was actually thinking about, no doubt with advice from her parents and also Williams close advisors, about what exactly it would do to her life to get close to the Royal Family, in other words much better prepared for the inevitable scrutiny and lack of privacy. Whereas Diana was simply an aristocratic virgin who was good breeding stock for a clumsy man void of any emotional experience. That said the question of whether Catherine will ever be as dear in the hearts of the British public as Dianas was in an interesting one it she is it will be for different reasons, I believe a lot of the affection for Di came from feeling sorry for the way she was treated and subsequently that she died an early death, I don't see anything bad happening to Catherine so it will be love based on respect

I wish her better luck than Diana and Fergie had. As long as she doen't fall foul of the blood sucking hyenas of the British tabloid press she could survive

Fergie was a very likeable person, a complete extrovert and with a great sense of humour. The Queen in fact was very fond of her.. She was a mature young woman when she met Andy and far too independent of spirit to take on the role of the complete Stepford wife.

The press pilloried her mercilessly and that was her downfall just the the press treated Diana and in the end were the cause of her death.

in her early days she was admired for her spirit and independence, after the divorce her attempts to sell access to her ex were quite rightly called out as being scandalous.

Why do we have to have a new Diana? She was a product of her own life, & the people in the RF now, have their own attributes & failings. Stop the fixation on Diana, she was a bit loony as well as pretty.
