Depends on the individual I guess, I’m a Londoner born and raised, and I’m only comfortable if I can see plenty of red buses and black taxis.
Nothing wrong with Northerners, they’re only different from me because of the way that they speak, but it’s more likely to be cold up north, so as a Southern wimp I prefer to be where the sun is more likely to shine.
I’ve been all over the U.K., none of it is terrible, but London’s where I’m at ease and where my heart is.
Where exactly is this invisible line that divides North and South England?
But to answer the question… I would prefer to live in the South of England, as I have had experience of living there before, and of visiting some lovely places in the South.
There seems to be a reputation of it being “Grim up North”, but I didn’t notice anything particularly grim, the times that I visited places in the North.
The weather does seem to be a bit milder in the South though - I did noticed that, whilst living in the South West of England.
Based on the OP’s question, I assume this excludes Wales and Scotland?
I have lost count of the times Wales has been excluded from polls on here, but I think the OP was specifically talking about England, rather than the whole of the UK.
