Hi and welcome to the forum. Offhand if your kid is school age, the Richland public schools are fairly good from what I hear. You might visit Masala restaurant in Kennewick, they have a great lunch buffet from 11 to 2 week days, there are usually quite a few Indian or Indian-looking people in there, perhaps introduce yourself. Also an excellent food truck, "Fast and Curryous" is around the area in different locations. The couple who run this truck, she is Indian-American, he is a regular American guy.

My main connection to India is the food, so that's why I am talking restaurants and food trucks.

This may be anecdotal, but in my small condo complex of 25 units, in Richland, there have been two Indian families in the past year. One moved out, the other is still there. They definitely have a presence in the Tri, mostly as scientific workers at Hanford/and/or PNNL.

Hi all, obviously coming much later in the game. But looks like my time has just come now to ask this question. It's 2023. My family is exploring to move to Richland, WA, mainly due to my husband's job in science field. From the above posts, it seems there is some Indian crowd in Tri-city. How is it looking now? Would love to connect with someone who can provide some basic info. You know, like school, cost of living, cost of child care, healthcare facilities, temples, shopping experience (from Indian and American perspectives), flight info to India....usual Indian stuff. We are family of four, with 12 yr boy and a 10 yr girl. They like Swimming, Ballet, Kathhak, Hip-hop, Piano, Flute, Violin, reading, exploring outdoors, biking, board-games, escape rooms etc. I like food, temple and some game nights with close and like minded crowd. Hubby likes anything we like plus meditation. Would appreciate any relevant info that can help us make a decision. Thanks so much in advance!

Hello all,

We are family of four (12 year girl and 5 year son) moving from Canada to Richland, WA. I need some information before i decide to move there with family. I appreciate if someone provide recommendation or information for high school/elementary school, safe area's to leave in, reading/math/outdoor activity coaching provider or facility, Indian community group, etc.
