Sad news! I used to go a long, long way to buy one of their original shampoos. Then that confusing competitor showed up and gummed up the works. My last remaining bottle does show the original company logo. There was nothing quite like it; herby and mildly astringent, wonderful scent. Amazon and other secondary vendors never seemed to offer it. I've even considered contacting their US corporate or UK headquarters about finding an equivalent. Maybe too late now!

Man, I remember when that was THE place to get your skin and hair care stuff. Hard to believe.

I recall a store which I think was called The Body Shop that was across from Gleim Jewelers in the Stanford Shopping Center. The only thing I ever purchased from T.B.S. was lavender soap leaves to use in public restrooms.

I used to love perusing their products but wasn't a regular buyer. I'll miss the tea tree oil stick, which I use whenever an occasional blemish crops up.

Body Shop products were more natural, better quality, and not nearly as loaded with fragrance as Bath and Body Works, which I can't even shop at any more.

I think this closure is just a generational thing--their heyday was the Gen Xers and shopping malls were their milieu. Neither are the bulk of the market anymore.

Oh, yeah, Bath & Body Works, phew, their stuff was awful, gave me a headache just walking in the store!

I used to shop at the Body Shop in the 80's and early 90's but over time I switched to Bath & Body Works - I prefer them. All the Body Shops in my area closed, anyway.

You do hopefully know it's apples and oranges. Most BBW products are filled with synthetic chemicals versus natural ingredients.

Oh wow, I always loved going in The Body Shop when I was @ the mall. They do have nice products, what a shame to hear they are closing. : (
