More new homes are coming to a rural area of the Greater Triangle.
Oxford approved plans for a new housing community last week that will bring over 300 new housing units to the Granville County city that sits along Interstate 85.
Plans for the development include 108 single-family homes and 216 townhomes for a total of 324 new residences. The land sits just northeast of downtown Oxford along Landis and Oxford Loop roads...This is just the latest major housing development to be approved in Oxford, a city of 8,600 people that has seen increased interest lately as growth floods north out of Wake and Durham counties – Oxford is 30 minutes from downtown Durham and about an hour north of Raleigh.
LGI Homes (Nasdaq: LGIH) is planning 302 new homes in the city, and another development with 426 new residences is being planned on the south side of town. Assuming all of these new homes are completed and sold, it would essentially mean the town's population could surge more than 20 percent.
Why is Oxford approving developments in Butner? Shouldn't Butner or Granville County approve it? I can't get by the paywall.
These are 2 separate developments, one in Oxford and another in Butner, which would be subject to approvals from the appropriate bodies. Not sure if the Butner development is actually in Butner or in the county's planning jurisdiction.
Has anyone heard of any other developments planned for the Butner/Stem/Creedmoor area?
We drive through Stem or Butner or Creedmoor at least once a week going between Roxboro and Raleigh. There are some small subdivisions being built in Stem along our route. I haven't seen much in Butner nor Creedmoor, but there are some clearing going on in Wilton near the 96/56 intersection.
A residential subdivision proposing hundreds of new homes is in the works in a Durham suburb.
During its April 13 meeting, the Creedmoor Planning Board considered a new subdivision called Yorkshire that would encompass 140 acres. The land sits just south of South Moss Hayes Road and east of U.S. Highway 15.
