A developer is planning a large community in Chapel Hill that will feature a variety of housing types, community spaces and retail space as the college town continues to attract big investments.

EB Capital Partners has submitted updated site plans for its project, Chapel Hill Crossing, located where Interstate 40 meets Highway 501 near the Patterson Place shopping center. The community will have up to 567 units spread among apartments, cottages, row houses and townhomes. There will also be about 15,000 square feet of retail space and several amenities, some of which will be available to the public.

Sounds like it's in Durham if it's by Patterson Place. And they forgot the 15 in highway 15-501. The article is behind a paywall.

Thanks for the link. I didn't realize there was undeveloped land in that area. Town of CH/County of Durham.

Thanks for the link. If they're putting that there without widening Old Chapel Hill Road, it's gonna be another traffic mess. Using that road as is right now is a much quicker alternative than going north-south through all the stoplights on 15-501 between Chapel Hill and Durham, even with its 35 mph speed limit.

Currently underway, Phase One will feature over 1,350,000 square feet (sf) in three buildings comprising 163,000 (sf), 275,000 (sf) with both scheduled to deliver in Q3 2025 and a pad-ready site for an additional 915,000 (sf).

A developer is moving forward with its massive industrial park in Orange County.

Barrister Commercial Group has broken ground on its 2.4 million-square-foot industrial park in Hillsborough. Called Research Triangle Logistics Park, the project is on 160 acres where Interstate 40 meets Old N.C. Highway 86 near the UNC Hospital Hillsborough campus.

The developer broke ground on the first phase in February, according to a LinkedIn post by Bill Aucoin, vice president of sales and leasing at Avison Young, which is handling leasing for the park.
