I listen to an English-language nationally syndicated show, on a local English-language AM station over iHeart radio. Sometimes (like now) they run commercials for McDonald's and auto parts stores that are in Spanish.
Sometimes they run local commercials in English for businesses that are in Oakland, CA. I am listening to a station that's from Allentown, PA.
I guess my question is, what's up with that? Does anyone else listen to the iHeart Radio app for local radio, and do they have these quirky issues? I know it's no use trying to contact iHeart about it, although their customers' ad revenue is being wasted on me.

Actually I did submit a report, and got back this auto-reply:
"Your request (780515) has been received and is being reviewed by our support staff."
So we'll see.

When I listen to I-Heart it's the station commercials that are on, not I-Heart commercials. If you are listening to a station in a place like El Paso, they are going to have commercials in Spanish. Commercials are whatever someone wants to pay for. If they are targeting Spanish-speakers it may be in Spanish even in a majority English speaking area. Often ads make no sense. We get ads on TV for places like Marcos Pizza, the nearest being Boise, 500 miles away. We also get ads on the radio for Sweet James, an attorney in Newport Beach, CA, about 1,200 miles away.

At first I thought that my phone was feeding info to iHeartRadio based on Spanish language music that I sometimes listen to. But I haven't played those songs in a while, and it suddenly switched over to Spanish commercials again (not the first time) and I've never been to Oakland, CA. Something weird going on with their algorithm.
P.S. I also got commercials for Marco's Pizza. I had to look them up. Modern times, right?
