I listen to the radio everyday in the car on my way to work. I know plenty of people who listen to the radio.

I listen to IHeartRadio, which has my favorite talk radio shows from "back home." If I was living in the broadcast area, I'd listen in my car or on a regular radio. I listen to streaming radio for several hours a day if not more.

I think streaming radio counts when you can still listen to it in your car, and when the radio station in question does have an 'over the air' option, but either you're not in the broadcast area so you use streaming (or you use streaming for convenience).

I got really upset with TWC last year about my cable charges and told them to come and get their box, I'm done with them. I listen to radio all day and wonder if the oscars are on the radio today? I'm going to have to check that out. Can't find on the net if they are. Does anyone know.

That's an interesting question from a few angles in my home.

First, I have a weather radio which up to 3-4 weeks ago, I listened to each night I got up. It got moved to the car for some trip and hasn't been moved back, but I really need to do so.

Which comes to the next point. Tonight, I started playing CDs again because I was "tired" of it being quiet in the house.

The thing with radio is that since you don't control it, it is unknown. You don't know what song is playing next. Granted, one could probably load up some system on a shuffle......but I don't have that kind of technology in my home. So if and when I get the receivers, perhaps speakers set up, I may turn them on.

One other thing and that is getting into a rut. You know how you might suddenly look up and realize you really haven't done anything useful for a while? It could be as simple as the unwashed dishes (HEAVEN FORBID IT'S THAT!) to eating the same meal night after night to those boxes that you haven't unpacked or the pictures that haven't been placed on the walls?

Well perhaps one way to avoid getting into a rut is to turn on the radio to remind one's self that there is still a world out there.

Just saying.....

I add shortwave radio to my listening late at night. It's not as popular as in the past but still has shows to offer.

I listen to the radio almost daily, mostly NPR, not music.

Yeah I listened to lots of shortwave when I was younger in grade school. However that was too many years ago.

I'll listen to NPR when I'm driving in the car because I don't get wifi connections to listen to radio via internet; I like several distant stations broadcasting from other major cities that I simply can't pickup on the actual radios I use. Otherwise I enjoy NPR will I do my driving.
