I've been posting some questions about some of my problems, but I might s well ask outright: Do you have a heat-a/c company that you really love?

Preferably the east side of town, like east Phoenix, Tempe, Mesa. Preferably mid-sized, not huge, but not with just two techs, either.

Go on Nextdoor I find smaller ones owner who does the work little better they seem to do better job, or they be back doing it again. If they are selling bunch of other stuff like service plans, wifi smoke detectors, solar system stay away from them. Had one of those guys change out a cap in my mothers AC unit. He went up in the attic where the air handler was took pictures. He showed us holes in the duct joint tape. I had been up there last year didn't see any of that can't prove it I think he took a knife and put in a few holes. He wanted to charge her $500 to fix the holes and "reseat the insulation". I went up there did it myself for free had a roll of aluminum tape. The insulation looked like he pulled it up there wasn't any dust on the exposed parts he said was pulled up like it just happened.

I do everything myself now days service guys are ripping everyone off anyway. They quotes are 40-50% higher then 2019.

Point of reference, we had a 2018 quote to replace two roof-top units (gas furnace + AC) for a total of $21K. I talked with our former neighbor who recently had the same work done to his home and the cost for the replacements was $43K. The price of bananas has doubled.

Beware.
My son had a quote to replace his compressor last summer for lots of money.
In talking to him I asked him if they checked the power breaker at all as it was old.
He did not know.
So I told him to go get another breaker and replace the old one. Breakers can and do start breaking ealier than planned when they get old.
Bingo! A $20 part saved him a lot of money.
I am a retired electrician supervisor.

I've had good experiences with True Home, which is based in Mesa. In comparison to other companies, they seem more ethical and less likely to use a routine tune-up as a chance to pitch thousands of dollars of unnecessary service, something I've had happen with one of the bigger companies.

Call the Cool/Hot Guys at (602) 266-5287. They are the best. Honest, affordable. Timely. They do work for my family and friends, never a complaint. Check out their reviews on Yelp.

I've never had any luck with NextDoor, but I do appreciate the suggestions of Cool/Hot and True Home.

We have been happy with Pro Solutions Air who installed two units for us in 2021. They still service our equipment and have a good warranty for their products.

I recently retired but in the past 6 years I was a caretaker for around 80 homes. I went thru 10 or more A\C companies before I found one that wasn't an outright thief.
I use Arizona Air Experts. I've used him for years. He has always been very reliable, on time, fair priced an honest and up front as to what the problem is.
I can't count how many times people have called an A\C company and quoted a full replacement and I call Randy and it turns out to be just a capacitor or breaker.
Randy is a straight shooter. You won't be disappointed.
