For anyone who has kids old enough to know what's going on....do they ever come home and say anything about what goes on in these classes (like hi mom...today the kid who can't speak english was acting up and the teacher didn't know how to tell him to stop in his language.)?

No, I asked my kid if there were new kids at school and are they doing any language training?
They said they were doing sign language. Okaaay..?
Finally got it out of them that there is one kid that needs an ESL Para for Spanish.
They said the kid is nice and a 'friend'.
Last year there was a kid that only spoke Portuguese.
Big whoop.
There are 40+ families in my town and I drive by their hotel every day - can't tell anything different at all.
I couldn't imagine showing up in another country, throwing my kid in a public school and just hoping for the best. But here in the US we cater to every single need so that everyone feels welcome.

I guess 2 of the 3 in my kid's class know English well enough to follow along. One doesn't. For the most part they are playing and coloring and such and they figure it out according to my kid. I'm more irked about the splitting up of the classes. My kid doesn't know some of his best friends won't be with him anymore.
10 more kids are coming to the school on Tue. 1 more to my kid's class.
There was a school meeting last night and this group has been in MA for about a year. They get moved around every few months. They stay at local hotels for 4-6 months and then relocate to another hotel somewhere. So these kids have been to 3 school systems so far, and likely will be in a different school next fall.
I beleive right now the state is loading up the hotels in the Rt 1 area from Saugus up through Lynnfield.
Just seems disgusting the way this state is going out of their way to accommodate. They don't seem to care how it affects citizens and children already here.
