Believe me, were we to go to war with China one of the very last things you would be concerned about would be whether or not we would eat Chinese food. This post is a clear example of why people who have never been in war should not be discussing it. Unbelievable.
ANYONE getting in a 'war' with China would likely be 'EMP'd into the stone-age' within less than 24hrs after the first bomb/missile was fired...therefore it is ALSO likely that NOBODY would have basic services (gas, electric, water) available to COOK the food, to say LESS whether or not one would even have the ability to start thier car and DRIVE to a Chinese restaurant.
EMP (Electro-Magnetic-Pulse) has the ability to knock out EVERYTHING, so unless you just happen to have some La Choy (canned) chinese-food in your pantry, a hand-cranked can-opener and a sterno (or wood-fired) stove handy...you probably won't be eating any Chinese food either.
See how 'tricky' it is, living in the 'modern-age', trapped like a 'rat in a maze' in a Metro-Suburban environment ?
I personally haven't come to any definite conclusions about this question. But the harsh reality would be that we would be killing ethnic Chinese as well as them killing us. That is the reality of war plain and simple. I wouldn't expect Chinese restaurant workers to consider me in a friendly way since they would have a sound reason not to like me. The worst scenario would be an attempt on their part to contaminate ones food. I enjoy Chinese food but I think that if there was a war between us and them that I would think twice before eating in a Chinese restaurant.
Does the fact that many of the Chinese citizens in this country are seventh and eighth generation Americans play any role in your thinking? How about the fact that China does not own American Chinese restaurants?
Well, OP let me ask you this: if US got into a war with China, would you stop ...
- going to AMC movie
- sleeping in Waldorf-Astoria, or Blackstone hotels
- eating Smithfield foods
- using GE products
- buying Motorola phones and other Chinese made gadgets
- boycott all products made in China?
Unless we'd heard of a mass poisoning of patrons by Chinese restaurant owners and workers, my hubby and I would continue enjoying their food and establishments.
I find it disappointing when people can't separate the actions of a government from the people of a nation.
YEP, DUMB THREAD!!
