I know we don't usually have snow here, although the past couple of days has proven to be a major exception. As most people here will remember, the last major snowfall occurred almost three years ago, in late February 2019. At the time I assumed that when it does snow it would typically be around that time, due to seasonal lag. As it is now, we're barely into the winter season at all, but here we are either admiring the snow from our windows, or else nervously driving on snowy roads.

For those who remember multiple winter snowfalls over the years, when in the season did they usually happen?

I agree with this ^^^. Normally November and December are super wet and rainy, December beginning of January have good chances for snow, February snows happen but not as often but it can even snow in March as it happened to do in 2012.

KEZI published a story yesterday with the observation that this was the most snow in "nearly two years". Was there snow anywhere around here in the winter of 2019-'20? I remember that winter being rather dry and not particularly cold, and completely free of snow.

Not that I remember. KEZI gets stuff wrong fairly often, so maybe they meant to say "in nearly three years."

In Southwest Oregon, we usually get snow in Dec-Jan. We can get snow thru March, is what i remember. My memory isn't as good as it used to be.

No snow that I can remember in the winter or 2019-2020. We moved from Eugene to Springfield to a > 110-year-old house with
electric wall heaters in June 2019 and we've had pretty easy winters until now. We're finally getting a wood stove at the end of this week. The supply chain issues have created much havoc.

I don’t have stats but when I lived in Eugene for 6 years in the late 90’s and early 2000’s I remember only about three snowfalls, the biggest if I remember correctly on New Years Day 2000, (might have been 2001, but can’t find actual stats) when the city got a foot of snow. Fortunately in Western Oregon’s lower elevations it usually doesn’t last long, and as I recall most of it melted by January 3rd.
