There's no reason cities half the size have more options (St Cloud, Fargo, Bismarck, etc..., even though I love those cities!)
Whoops, yeah, I always make that mistake

I also just read that article about the hotel and restaurant on Central Entrance, and I have a strong feeling that the council isn't going to approve it.

Duluths city council is so strict, but this is one thing that they must approve. They would be so stupid not to approve it. Also this is something that would not only benefit the Duluthians but also the tourists. There would be more hotel space to stay in, and for a longer period of time, and another eaterie not only for us but for the tourists also. This is the kind of issue that is going to happen more and more in Duluth. The entire Central Entrance from the lower retail corridor to the higher one, which starts at Cub, all is being rezoned to Commercial. It must be rezoned to commercial becuase of MN Dot. Now what is the city going to do there? They have no choice. So then its going to be retail all the way up to the stop lights, and then the little corner will be houses, and surrounding the houses, retail. The council needs to the think whats best for the future even thought it may not seem right now. Who knows, we'll see in a few weeks. Cross your fingers.

Does anyone know why Burger King left the Miller Hill Mall? Also Wilsons Leather will not be reopening and is there fore leaving Duluth. I think the space next to Wilsons Leather may become home to Vanity now.

yeah no kidding. Im completely lost on this post. Id prefer more local spots in Duluth that I cant find in Minneapolis rather than driving thru and seeing the same usual bland chain of restaurants and stores I see everywhere.

Duluth has the potential to be a really cool city if it wasnt for the complete and total lack of a job market.

The K Mart/former Michael's space! That K Mart store always looks empty and is
liable to close. The former Gander Mountain. Duluth could use a big sporting goods
store like Scheels or Dick's(the former Galyan's). Golf Galaxy or Golfsmith. Any of
these home stores: Bed Bath & Beyond, HomeGoods, and Linens n Things.

I completly agree with you that those stores need to open here. I once was rumoured that Sears was to leave the mall and build a free standing store where Kmart and Michaels was. But that is not true. The only problem is that Bed Bath and Beyond does not want to open a store in Duluth, even though we need them greatly. Nice thoughts though.
