I found that spot on Google Maps and "rode" along it virtually on street view. Took me a while before I found a speed limit sign: 45 mph.


I'd feel more comfortable if it were 35 mph (though I know people don't keep to the limit) but yes, I'd ride it (for real). Although if you keep going in that direction, it has a climb and gets narrower and less safe-looking around Joel McCrea Wildlife Preserve.

If it's 45 mph, I would probably prefer some sort of paved shoulder (without rumble strips). Though not the end of the world if I have to ride on it. I'm definitely a more comfortable rider than the majority of bicyclists.

If there is a bike lane on the road I usually will use it unless there is no traffic and then I just use the road..

There is a road not far from me that a sign says "Share the road" so this thread caught my eye.....
