Also apparently Southington was among the most searched zipcodes in the country this fall.

What I'm seeing locally is very slim pickings on the market and not a lot of prime realestate going up (lots of dated stuff) and even still price reductions are small or non existent. Also seeing a lot more new builds coming out with really big price tags.

On the NY connection all my new neighbors are from NY or Mass, Talking with coworkers it seems NY plates are very common at all the houses the see recently sold here. So for some reason central CT is even seeing in influx of NYers.
Fairfield County and New Haven shoreline, Wallingford, Oxford, Cheshire is expensive.

Inventory is now the lowest I’ve EVER seen it in Milford.

But it’s also slowed compared to last few winters.

Triple incentive NOT to move? High interest rates + slow market + minimal/no decline in values.

Places like Milford, Shelton, Orange, West Haven is popular for people who want be near Fairfield, Norwalk, Stamford area but can’t afford Fairfield or Trumbull. Branford, Guilford, Madison getting costly as well. Hartford County, New London County is cheaper option.

People who can afford Milford won't be interested in Trumbull, Orange, Shelton or West Haven

Milford, Trumbull, Orange are all the same ballpark now.

I would have put Trumbull and Orange above Milford in desirability, but my perceptions may be outdated.

All about equal these days. If you want coastal and/or a walkable downtown(s), you're not going to Orange or Trumbull. And there's nothing else west of New Haven on the coast that's somewhat affordable with good schools.

They are Lintu, Covid forever changed the landscape, but was that really the case though? Milford has something Orange and Trumbull never can - a coastline. I would imagine Milford coastal properties were alway more desired and expensive than the others.
