I have used tracfone but am unhappy with it I think they may be cheating me out of minutes used
Are you satisfied? Unlike most people I rely on my home cordless landline and don't use the cell that much because of its small size. Their customer service is very cautious and difficult for me
I need a very cheap alternative. Basic minimal
I've used Tracfone for my cell phone service for many years. I don't know of any service that would be any cheaper and still provide the service that they provide for my small amount of usage. For my home phone service, I have a landline which is fairly cheap because it is combined with my cable TV and internet service in a package deal.

I'm in the middle of changing carriers (& phones) right now.
Most of the problem seems to be that VERIZON bought them out. They USED to be fine.
Before TF ... I used VirginMobile very happily until they were sold out.

Me too. The lesson I'm learning is that the pay as you go model is dying out...
with registrations and credit card ties etc. If willing to cross that line Boost might be the one.
I started using Tracfone as a temporary solution & then just stayed with them b/c it's the easiest thing to do. I don't like my latest phone, but the model I had before is no longer made. Also, getting any assistance from them is impossible, customer service used to exist but no more. So for now, I'm hanging in there. I actually came to this forum to post my own Tracfone question.
I've used Tracfone for years; no complaints except for their customer service, which is horrible! My SIM went bad, and I nearly lost my mind trying to get another one up and running with them. But for my uses (I use it rarely), paying by the minute works fine. How are they "cheating" you out of minutes? They never expire as long as you have service days.
Yeah terrible customer service, but it works, and it's cheap.
60 minutes, 90 days for $19.99.
I can't even see my roll over minutes anymore, but the last time I could check them I had 26,000 minutes. Most of them from a previous plan. My current balance is probably somewhere between 25,000 and 30,000 minutes. Even when I get stuck on a 3 hour long customer service call, I don't have to worry. It barely puts a dent in my balance.
