Pine Ridge Winery

There are a number of wineries in the Napa Valley area, but the Pine Ridge Winery believes it has found a way to stand out. There growing, harvesting and winemaking practices are based on those of France and embrace the principles of " pride of ownership, profound stewardship of the land, and a relentless dedication to quality." Pine Ridge's goal is to go above and beyond those princicples by caring for each and every vine on the property as if it were the only one producing. To make their wines, they harvest the grapes by hand at night, creating a more gentle and comfortable environment for both the harvest and the harvester. They move the grapes in crush proof transportation, and they use cluster and berry sorting methods which are more tedious, but lead to a better wine. Finally, the grapes are put through a high temperature extended maceration, extracting seed flavor and tannin for the wine. Visitors to the area can enjoy an extensive tour of the facility for a fee which takes you into the cave system for a sample right from the barrel. Guests can also enjoy tastings, culinary programs and cave dinners. The winery also offers a wine club to those seeking discounts on wines and information about special events.
