Malibu Colony

The Malibu Colony is an affluent neighborhood in Malibu that is filled with celebrity residents. The community is gated to create a feeling of privacy and safety for those living in the area. Those who visit Southern California in hopes of spotting celebrities can take a drive by the area or visit the Malibu Colony Plaza, walking distance from the neighborhood. The shopping center features a Ralph's Market and celebrities like Charles Bronson, Pamela Anderson, Tommy Lee, Pierce Brosnan, Bette Middler, Carole King, Goldie Hawn, and Lloyd Bridges have all been seen coming and going from the shopping center to their homes in the Colony. In addition to the grocery store is a Blockbuster Video, a Sav-On Drug Store,a newsstand, Subway Sandwich Shop, and post office. Malibu Colony was one of the first areas in the city to become residential. It sits opposite the shores of the Malibu Lagoon State Beach and next to Malibu Bluff's Park. Homes in the Colony cost millions of dollars, all located on small lots of land. The view allows homeowners to see from Santa Monica to Rancho Palos Verdes, as well as the bluffs of Point Dume. While not everyone will be able to enter Malibu Colony, it is a great place to star watch, both in the area and at the Plaza.
