Ramirez Canyon Park

Ramirez Canyon Park is situated in a valley off the Malibu coastline and bordered by a National Park Service wilderness area. The park is elegantly landscaped and offers visitors a magnificent coastal wilderness viewing area. This 22 acre park was donated to the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy by Barbra Streisand in December of 1993. Access to the property is restricted by appointment only. This restriction was established to assure the privacy of permanent residents in the estate area.Visitors fortunate enough to gain access to the estate will marvel at the beauty and landscape design within the confines of the estate. Gardens and meadows abound within the grounds. The largest meadow, to the north is the location of the 1986 One Voice fundraising performance. Located behind the Barn a former corral was converted into a garden that produces roses, foxglove, asters, sweet peas, camellias as well as varieties of herbs, vegetables and fruit. A one-hour walking tour covers the background of the property, as well as its broader association to the Santa Monica Mountains. Visitors can also enjoy refreshments on the Barn patio. Guests have an opportunity to inspect the different structure designs of the building constructed on the site, including Barwood, the two-story executive office for the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy. The vine covered Barn was the first structure built on the property and is said to be Ms. Streisand's favorite. Other structures that can be seen are the Peach House and the Deco House.
