Featured in Texas Old-Time Restaurants and Cafes by Sheryl Smith-Rodgers. The cafe was established in 1928. Great home-cooking located in downtown Waskom on US 80. Come take a seat at the counter and warm up with a hot bowl of homemade soup or a bowl of chicken and dumplings. Have a flash from your past with a bowl of banana pudding...we promise it will be just as good as your Grandma used to make. We are home of Texas' oldest working 10cent pay phone. In 1936 after US 80 moved from the restaurant's north side to its south. The owner had the building hydraulically lifed and turned so it once again faced the road. We are open Mon-Fri 6am - 3pm and open until 7pm on Wednesdays. We are available for private parties in the evenings and weekends. We will cater for 1 or 1,000.
