    City of Philadelphia Food Safety Certificates were not available, however, management was able to furnish copies of money orders and applications that have been submitted to the Department.
  • Food Storage Requirements & Prohibited Areas (46.321)
    Food is not stored at least 6 inches above the floor (various food displays).
  • Cold Holding Potentially Hazardous Foods (46.385(a)(2)-(a)(5))
    Various items in the Refrigerated "Weekly Specials" area were held at 50 degrees F rather than 41 degrees F or below as required. Management began removing all items from this display.
  • Plumbing Facilities in Good Repair, Cross Connection Prohibited, Scheduled Inspections, Cleaning Water Reservoirs (46.825(b)-(e))
    Indirect waste drain for salad bar is located below base of cabinet which makes it difficult to access. Drain should be raised for easy access.
  • Controlling Pests, Removing Dead or Trapped Birds, Insects, Rodents and Pests (46.981(k)(l))
    -Adequate fly control measures are not in place in the deli area. -Some old mouse droppings observed on the bottom shelves of the large chips display in the front corner of establishment.

    No sign or poster posted at the handwash sink in the toilet rooms where needed & hot food area to remind food employees to wash their hands.

    Grindable food waste was observed in trash cans in deli prep area. Utilize existing garbage grinder or company that recycles food waste.

    Vermin proof frozen rec'd bay door & rec'd bay door sweep provides inadequate protection
  • Lighting Intensity (46.943)
    Missing bulb at exhaust hood in bakery. Blown bulb in meat prep dept. Shadowed areas near 3 bay sink in fish dept.

i worked at shoprite for very little time and loved going there everyday everyone was so nice and i really enjoyed my time there i wish i didnt get fired but its a good lesson ,
