I took my 97 year old mom on Easter for convenience. We arrived at 10:20 a.m. I would estimate 8 people waiting in one line to order. We were 5th and 6th, so I helped my mom get seated without losing my place in line. I'd say 20 people were waiting for their food. There was one mgr.,(Maridas?) and no less than a crew of ten visible from the front counter. There was only one cash register in use. The mgr's audible and repeated, "AY YI YI" set the tone for the next hour, at least.
Chaotic would be generous. Out of coffee, out of control, and ridiculous drag on the food. "AY YI YI" Patrons VISIBLY AND OPENLY in dismay and disbelief. My mom and I got to eat afterall, but warm food at best. Cold soft drink and hot coffee for an A+. At 11:30 ish, I ordered a small order of FF. Out of FF. I did get cold FF later. Also, a second mgr started at 11:30. (Bea?) She righted the ship almost single handidly in the next 30 minutes. Great take charge individual with a great demeanor. I commended her, said something about the FF. She said she came on duty at 11:30 and "no FF" Genuinely sorry. Maridas left at noon.
I'm a 30 year veteran of restaurant ownership and operation.
So, my review stemmed from spending 1 1/2 hours of waiting, eating, and waiting some more, to eat some cold FF.
My take is this. The restaurant may have had one of their biggest day in sales by noon-in spite of themselves. My visit there was strictly for convenience, but rather impeded due to the breakdown in efficiency. It left a lot to be desired.
If the sales reflect my observations, I would recommend asking the mgr's how things went at least until noon on Easter Sunday. With any luck, you'll be able to watch security video during that period of time. Good luck and continued success, in spite of this fiasco.
