I had a really bad experience at the AT&T store just west of Penn & Memorial Rd in Oklahoma City. Writing a negative review is a first for me. I try to be fair to all.
I needed a new phone after finding mine had gone through the laundry wash cycle. It was an iPhone- which I've never really loved.
The sales associate said at least (5) five times, it would be best to stay with an iPhone. I told him upfront I didn't want to replace with another iPhone & repeatedly he kept pushing only an iPhone.
After I repeatedly telling him no iPhone, he left me alone to pick out an overwhelming array of smartphones. I picked the LG G Vista since my daughter loved her LG.
This phone is more user friendly than the iPhone and I love it.. However, had I known what little RAM it had, I would have stepped up to a LG G3. I wish he would have at least mentioned this fact. He failed to look up our 4-person group upgrades, which I know had 2 upgrades I could have used. My fiance pays the bill and gladly wanted me to take one of the upgrades.
When I mentioned this the SA proceeded to talk in circles. I should have just left the store. Instead of looking up ways to save some $ with our current group plan, he somehow convinced me to pay the full purchase price either in installments on our plan, less tax, or outright- which I ended up doing- shelling out the full amount with a phone that won't grow with my needs.
I feel duped. He was basically saying I couldn't learn a different type of cell. Once I found the G Vista- attractive because of large screen, he never even pointed out the differences between the G Vista & G3 which is marginally smaller but packs so much more punch.
Hence, I paid full price for a budget model, when I would have gladly paid extra had I known about the G3.
Now after a week I'm out a $35 restocking fee and the glass I added (I can't blame him for that) which was $45, I believe.
The lack of care after he knew I wouldn't go iPhone again was awful. Come to find out he owned an LG which again is so user friendly & better than my past iPhones. My in-store experience was simply TERRIBLE, I'm sorry to say. I will always do this online for future. I'll return the phone I purchased 1 week ago, then work with an online associate for the upgraded LG G3, who will find ways to get me the best deal on this phone versus an in-store SA who insinuated I couldn't learn a new phone. How wrong he was!
