Description: A front garden welcomes guests to The Cedars, located across from the William and Mary campus and a short walk from Merchants Square. This establishment, run by owner Bob Tubbs, offers a variety of accommodations. For complete privacy, choose the freestanding Cottage Suite, which has two rooms, one with a king-size bed, one with a queen, and a fireplace. A two-room suite, the William and Mary, is in the main house. The George Washington Suite provides a queen-size bed in the bedroom and a daybed in a sitting room, as well as a private bath. The William and Mary Suite has two rooms joined by a bath and is furnished with a four-poster bed in one and twin beds in the other. The other six sleeping rooms all have private baths. Antiques and 18th-century reproductions throughout the house convey an elegant, historic ambience, fitting to the place known as “Williamsburg’s oldest and largest guesthouse.”Brace yourself for a day of touring with a full gourmet breakfast featuring fresh-baked muffins, a hot entree that might include baked oatmeal with brandied raisins or crème brûlée French toast, coffee, tea, juice, and fruit. The Cedars is a nonsmoking house. You’ll find off-street parking in the rear.
