Description: Gates open at 9 a.m. for the crowds of more than 100,000 people who turn out each year for this free air show. Launched from the Charleston Air Force Base, the aerial demonstrations of the Charleston Air Expo may feature the US Army Golden Knights parachutists, as well as US Air Force F-22 Raptor and F-18 Hornet demos, and the Thunderbirds, whose daring maneuvers will leave you in awe. Static displays allow access to look in cockpits and cargo areas—a real hit with the kids. Crowd control and parking are well organized, and food and souvenir concessions are on site.
