Description: Each year, a private historic dwelling is placed in the capable hands of volunteers from the Charleston Symphony Orchestra League to be presented in all its dazzling glory to the public in a one-house tour. The annual showhouse event, which opens in mid-Mar and continues for a month, is sponsored by the orchestra league, and each room is decorated by an ASID designer. It provides a great opportunity to tour an attractive home, shop the in-house boutique, and have lunch at the same residence in the tearoom. Sometimes the boutique might be in a garage or carriage house; the tearoom might be set up in the garden. It all depends on the layout of the chosen home. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door, and proceeds benefit our outstanding orchestra. Hence, it’s a win–win situation and another opportunity to experience the inside of Charleston.
