Description: This CBS affiliate has managed to stay on top of the ratings for its 11:00 p.m. newscast for a couple of years’ worth of books. Part of that ratings success is due to the stability of the anchor desk: Rob Braun and Kit Andrews have been paired for years, along with weathercaster Tim Hedrick. Braun’s popularity isn’t hurt by the fact he’s the son of a locally famous television entertainer, Bob Braun. This is certainly the station to turn to for weather reports: Hedrick, Steve Horstmeyer, and the others who staff the “Doppler 12 Weather Center” have nearly a century of weather forecasting experience between them. The station is owned by Clear Channel, which also dominates the radio market (explaining why there are so many cross-promotions between the newscast and the company’s many radio stations).
