Description: Watch the year-round daily feedings of the seals, sea lions, and everyone’s favorite, the polar bears. In spring and summer kids can hand-feed lorikeets and giraffes, with their 18-inch tongues, and watch the Animal Encounters show and Porcupine Stroll. There are also bumpy, humpy camel rides available seasonally. You’ll find a Gator Swamp, 15-foot-long crocodiles, gorillas, elephants, cheetahs, and cute koalas in the 64-acre zoo, which is inhabited by over 250 species of exotic and native critters. The zoo, along with the adjacent Albuquerque Aquarium and Rio Grande Botanic Garden, is part of the Albuquerque Biological Park. See the Attractions chapter for detailed information on all BioPark facilities, including the narrow-gauge Rio Line train that runs between them, and discount-rate combo tickets. Tots under 3 are free. Open seven days.
