Description: This community college offers 48 associate degree programs in the arts, sciences, and occupational disciplines and 52 certificate programs in business, health, technology, and vocational occupations. CNM has six schools of study: Adult and General Education; Applied Technologies; Business and Information Technology; Communication, Humanities, and Social Sciences; Health, Wellness, and Public Safety; and Mathematics, Sciences, and Engineering. Noncredit workshops and classes are also offered to the community in subjects from creative writing to conversational Spanish.Other services offered by CNM include workforce training programs and distance learning courses. Tuition rates are low and vary by the student’s area of residence; some courses are free of charge if you live within CNM’s tax district. In addition to the main campus, the college has campuses in the Northeast Heights, the South Valley, and the Westside, and a new campus is under construction in Rio Rancho, due to open in 2010. CNM’s Workforce Training Center, dedicated to job training and professional development, is located in the area of Balloon Fiesta Park.
