Description: This 27-hole course is part of the Isleta Pueblo’s Casino & Resort due to be renamed Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Albuquerque in Spring 2010, but is open to nonresidents. It comprises three 9-hole loops named for their key geographical features: the Mesa 9, Lakes 9, and Arroyo 9. You can play 18 holes in any permutation, and course length from four tee sets ranges from 5,231 to 7,572 yards. The nicely contoured par-72 course opened in 1996 and was designed by Bill Phillips. It is set in modified parkland and features dense roughs surrounding the manicured fairways and multitiered greens. Elevation changes are less extreme here, and it’s more rolling than rocky. Seven of the 9 holes in the Lakes complex are designed around water, and the Lakes signature hole, the fourth, is a par 3, 193 yards from the back tee, with a challenging island green. Isleta Eagle offers splendid sweeping vistas over the Rio Grande and Mount Taylor to the west. Facilities include a practice range, a golf shop, and a clubhouse restaurant serving casual fare. Greens fees include golf carts, and reservations are taken seven days in advance, year-round. Metal spikes aren’t allowed here. Isleta Eagle Golf Course is approximately 5 miles south of Albuquerque airport. Take I-25 south to exit 215; stay in the left lane onto Highway 47/ Broadway SE.
